Upcoming Training Days and Events for Professionals / Volunteers

Briefing Event - 'Pre Birth Procedures'

Following the recent pre birth procedural update, the Policy and Procedure sub committee will be running two briefing events in November 2008, aimed at identified professionals, managers and relevant designated/named child protection officers. The events will highlight the practice requirements following the update and allow attendees to consider any revision to procedures within their own agencies.

'Managing Allegations Against Staff and Volunteers' Training Event

In 2008, the BSCB ran two training days on 'Managing Allegations Against Staff and Volunteers'. Feedback from both events was extremely positive and the BSCB will continue to roll out this training in 2009. If you would like to be notified regarding future events, please contact Ally Baughan on abaughan@buckscc.gov.uk or 01296 383485

'Safer Recruitment and Selection' Training Days

The BSCB will continue to run its Safer Recruitment and Selection training events in 2009. Dates are yet to be confirmed, but if you would like to received details regarding future events, please contact Ally Baughan on 01296 383485 or email abaughan@buckscc.gov.uk

'Training for Trainers'

A training for trainers event is due to be held on 26th & 27th November 2008. The event is open to all sectors and aims to equip participants to effectively run 'introduction to safeguarding children ( child protection )' training within their own agencies. As it is essential that participants have a good working knowledge of Safeguarding Children issues before they undertake the course, we will not be providing an application form. Instead, please contact Ann Lexton directly on 01296 382742 or on alexton@buckscc.gov.uk for further information.

Following the training, participants will be observed and given advice about delivering competent safeguarding training within their own agency.
