Better Beginnings for Young Parents & Their Babies (FSIDs) Seminar

The BSCB has recently supported two seminars, which were run by the Foundation for the Study of Infant Deaths (FSIDs). These 2 hour seminars were open to all practitioners and volunteers who work with young parents, both before and after the birth of their baby, and included:

* An general understanding of infant death, including additional factors of risk for young parents;

* Updates on the latest advice in infant care practice;

* Free resources for all attendees.

As well as reducing the risk of sudden infant death, the seminar aimed to increase professional knowledge, ensuring that key messages are passed onto young parents to enable them to develop confidence in themselves, a sense of independent and increased self esteem.
