The conference was open to practitioners from the statutory, voluntary and private sectors, working both in the childrens, and vulnerable adults, workforce.
The 2009 conference, entitled 'Think Family: Working with families where there are parental mental health needs' looked at the need to ensure that Children and Adult Services work together so that the needs of the whole family is considered, rather than those of the parent or child in isolation. Work on the outcomes from this event is currently being undertaken by the BSCB
The 2008 conference, entitled 'Child Sexual Abuse: Concerns and Responses', considered the impact of child sexual abuse, barriers to disclosure and the vulnerability of disabled children and those with special needs.
The 2007 conference, entitled 'Alcohol and Hidden Harm', focused on children whose parents are affected by alcohol and/ or drug abuse.
