The BSCB has produced an number of leaflets and documents designed to support you.

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

This leaflet provides information on Female Genital Mutilation, including the four types of FGM, the law in the UK and health implications for those at risk. It also contains details of who to contact if you are concerned that a child or young women is at risk for FGM, either in the UK or abroad.

Private Fostering

This leaflet has been design for anyone who is, or thinks they might be, privately fostering a child in Buckinghamshire. It contains information and guidance, such as the criteria of Private Fostering, the responsibilities of a private foster carer and details of who they must notify.

'Professional Boundaries: Your Role with Children and Young People'

This leaflet has been produced for all staff and volunteers working with children and young people, providing easy to follow guidelines and expectations. The leaflet is available to download as a resource for the whole children's workforce, whether as part of an induction pack for new workers, or as an example of good practice for existing staff.

'Supporting Staff and Volunteers' - A guide for Staff and Volunteers facing an allegation of abuse.

This leaflet provides information regarding the process following an allegation. It explains the protocol which will be followed, as well as informing the staff member of the possible outcomes and who they can contact for advice.

Information Sharing / Referrals Card

This A5 card has been produced in partnership with the Buckinghamshire Children and Young Peoples Trust.

The card highlights what needs to be taken into consideration with regards to information sharing, as well as contact numbers ( including out of hours ) for the Referral and Assessment Teams. It also provides a space for staff to note down the name of their designated person with regards to Safeguarding.

The Safeguarding Children Information Update

The Safeguarding Children Information Update is a bulletin detailing national guidance, consulations, reports and press articles relating to Safeguarding Children.

 It contains details of conferences, events and campaigns, as well as information from statutory bodies such as the Department of Education, Home Office and Ofsted.
