Allegations against Staff and Volunteers in the Children's Workforce

The BSCB has developed an information leaflet for parents & carers of children or young people who have made an allegation of abuse against a member of staff or volunteer working in the children's workforce.

The leaflet contains information regarding the allegations management process, the professionals who will be involved and possible outcomes. It also contains information of support services, both for yourself, your child and family.

The BSCB has also developed an additional leaflet aimed specifically at children and young people who have made an allegation.

Keeping Children Safe

This leaflet contains advice on what to do if you are concerned about a child. It can be downloaded by clicking on the link in the downloads area.

Female Genital Mutilation (FGM)

This leaflet provides information on Female Genital Mutilation, including the four types of FGM, the law in the UK and health implications for those at risk. It also contains details of who to contact if you are concerned that a child or young women is at risk for FGM, either in the UK or abroad.

Parenting Handbook ( for parents with children aged 0 - 11 years old ):

This handbook is full of a wide range of helpful information, covering topics such as babysitting, bullying, child minding, internet safety, positive parenting and temper tantrums!

It also includes details of what you can do if you are concerned about a child ( please also see the 'concerned about a child' section of the BSCB website ) and contact numbers of organisations in the area who can offer support and advice.

Private Fostering

This leaflet has been design for anyone who is, or thinks they might be, privately fostering a child in Buckinghamshire. It contains information and guidance, such as the criteria of Private Fostering, the responsibilities of a private foster carer and details of who they must notify.

The BSCB has produced some easy to follow guidance for employers based in Buckinghamshire. The leaflet can be downloaded by clicking on the link in the downloads area.

You Matter ( A Guide for 16 - 18 year olds):

The BSCB has created a guide called 'You Matter'. The guide is designed to support 16 - 18 year olds in Bucks by providing information about issues such as staying safe, relationships, drinking and drugs, body image, sexuality, feeling low and living with a disability, as well as details of additional websites and contact information.
