Short Awareness Raising Sessions

Short awareness raising sessions will run for 2 hours or less and are designed to provide a more accessible way of accessing learning and development opportunities.

All sessions are FREE OF CHARGE to attend but places are limited so you will need to book your place (places are offered on a first come, first served basis).

Private Fostering

This lunchtime session aims to raise awareness about private fostering and the importance of multi-agency involvement in identifying and safeguarding children living in private care arrangements. 

By the end of the session participants will:

  1. Understand the definition of Private Fostering
  2. Understand the legal framework and regulations around Private Fostering
  3. Appreciate the diverse situations of children living in such arrangements
  4. Know what to do (understand the assessment process) and who to contact if a private fostering arrangement is identified
  5. Identify the impact and implications of Private Fostering within your own service area
  6. To share and discuss case dilemmas

 Sessions are being held:

  • 12.30 – 2pm     Monday 29th January 2018 at Knight Hall, Green Park, Aston Clinton HP22 5NE
  • 12.30 – 2pm     Monday 19th February 2018 at Committee rooms, Chiltern District Council,
    King George V Road, Amersham, Buckinghamshire HP6 5AW
