Short Awareness Raising Sessions

Short awareness raising sessions will run for 2 hours or less and are designed to provide a more accessible way of accessing learning and development opportunities.

All sessions are FREE OF CHARGE to attend but places are limited so you will need to book your place.

Learning Opportunity: Child Protection Conferences – Supporting Effective Practice

  • Tuesday 10th October          12.30-1.45pm  (Knight Hall, Green Park, Aston Clinton)

These sessions are aimed at managers of front-line professionals who are involved in Child Protection Conferences. They are open to colleagues working in any agency in Buckinghamshire.

The sessions will be an opportunity to:

  • Hear about some of the headlines from the Child Protection Conference Service Annual Report
  • Explore ways you can support effective practice in relation to Child Protection Conferences
  • Share your own experiences, including any challenges or barriers to effective practice

These sessions are free of charge, and places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis. Refreshments will not be provided, but please feel free to bring your lunch. If this is a popular format, then we will seek to offer further dates.

Managing Allegations and the LADO – Good Practice Workshops (12.30 – 2.00pm)

The BSCB is holding lunchtime workshops to provide an introduction to managing allegations and the role of the Local Authority Designated Officer (LADO). The sessions will include practical examples of allegations to help participants understand the ‘threshold’ for reporting to the LADO and to explore the allegations management process. The sessions will also explore what obstacles there are to reporting allegations and how transference of risk can be assessed. The sharing of confidential information will also be discussed and there will be opportunities for questions to be raised by delegates.
