This link provides a clear definition of Learning Difficulties, as well as highlights the Risks and Indicators which practitioners should be aware of when working with families. It also details the action which must be taken by agencies to ensure that the children living within these household are considered and protected.

Home Conditions Assessment Tool (developed by Buckinghamshire County Council / Families First / Buckinghamshire Health Trust)

This is a short assessment of the home conditions and their impact on the children who live there. It considers 20 aspects of home conditions such as odour, cleanliness and home maintenance.  It concludes with a decision about the level of concern, what actions need to be taken, what tasks need to be done and who needs to do them.
